This is an exciting opportunity for an early or mid career Automation Engineer to join our Canterbury based client. With significant project work ahead this is an exciting time to be joining their close knit team.

What our client can offer:
Our client is a large and well known exporter based here in Canterbury, with an established manufacturing plant that has operated successfully for many years. Due to recent turnover in their team, they are seeking an early to mid career Automation Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

What you will do:
This role presents the opportunity to work across both project work and support, with a focus on the design and automation of complex SCADA solutions.

With a number of key projects coming up including the reimplementation of SCADA, introduction of new integration technologies and AI, it’s a fantastic time to be coming onboard. 

With approximately 60% of your time dedicated to improvement projects, you can expect to spend the remainder of your time supporting Electrical and Production Engineers in the factory with complex technical issues, and acting as an escalation point for external vendor support.

Skills and experience we are looking for:
Our successful candidate will hold a degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering or similar, or at last 5 years of experience, and be able to demonstrate experience with 

• Programmable logic Controllers (Allen Bradley)
• Industrial electrical knowledge
• Instrumentation knowledge and experience
• The ability to work autonomously and productively in a small team
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal
