Technical Product Owner

• 12-month fixed term role delivering at scale inside a major public organisation
• $150–180K salary band; clear purpose and high-impact environment

Deliver complex cloud and infrastructure roadmaps across internal platforms. Auckland based. High-level engagement.

What you will do:
You will manage end-to-end product ownership for infrastructure and cloud platforms across a complex enterprise. The focus includes roadmap design, operational oversight, and vendor delivery accountability. You will support network services, contribute to strategic cloud initiatives, and act as the key contact for internal and external stakeholders. Your work will include backlog management, incident resolution, and translating technical objectives into actionable goals that align with council priorities.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Strong background in public cloud (Azure, AWS), VMware, Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience in enterprise network platforms (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, security)
• Proven delivery capability in structured environments (SAFe, Agile)
• Confidence managing external vendors and driving platform performance
• Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term platform strategy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination
• Previous experience in public sector or with council-controlled organisations (desirable)
• Must have NZ working rights and be based in or able to commute to Auckland
