Be at the forefront of digital adoption, leading a programme of work that prepares people, processes, and operations for new digital systems.

What our client can offer:
This is a senior leadership position within a transformative enterprise scale programme that directly impacts how services are delivered to the community. You’ll work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with the scope to influence outcomes across digital adoption, workflows, and operational performance.

Based in Dunedin, the role offers visibility at an executive level, the chance to lead a diverse team of specialists, and the opportunity to deliver long-lasting change in a sector that touches people’s lives every day.

What you will do:
As Programme Manager, you will lead a team of change managers, trainers, and readiness specialists to ensure staff are informed, trained, and supported through the adoption of new systems. You’ll oversee change and engagement strategies, manage operational transition planning, and ensure smooth cutover and go-live support.

This role includes embedding benefits realisation, providing clear reporting at programme level, and representing readiness activities at senior forums. With influence across both digital and operational streams, you’ll ensure the transition to new systems is smooth, secure, and sustainable.

Skills and experience we are looking for:
  • 10+ years’ experience managing large-scale programmes or projects, ideally in government, community or complex service environments

  • Proven track record in leading change and engagement at scale

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, able to inspire and motivate diverse teams

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including with senior leaders and frontline staff

  • Experience in operational readiness, cutover planning, and post-go-live transition
Please note that successful candidates must hold full New Zealand working rights and be available for in-person interviews in New Zealand as needed.

While preference will be given to those who can be based in Dunedin full-time for the duration of the contract, we are also open to candidates located elsewhere in New Zealand who can be in Dunedin at least one week per month, with increased on-site presence required during the October go-live period
