Exciting new role beginning June 2026 for a technically minded problem-solver!
Join TimeFiler, leading provider of online timesheeting, rostering, and leave solutions!
Competitive salary, great team, permanent role
Office-based in Riccarton, with onsite client interactions and some flexibility.
Exciting new role beginning June 2026 for a technically minded problem-solver!
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join TimeFiler in a hands-on Product Analyst role focused on building and extending their new payroll platform. Working collaboratively with product, domain experts, development team and customers, this role focuses on translating product requirements into business rules and configurations within the TimeFiler platform
What our client can offer:
TimeFiler has an established presence in Australasia, supporting over 800 clients and 150,000 employees. The company offers a stable and growing work environment with a strong focus on innovation and customer service. Employees benefit from a supportive and collaborative workplace with opportunities to influence company marketing strategies and client engagement approaches. Professional growth is encouraged, with exposure to a variety of industries and business operations.
What you will do:
Using tools developed by the engineering team, you will play a key role in implementing the logic that drives how the TimeFiler Payroll platform operates. Working closely with product and domain experts, you will translate requirements into structured logic, system rule configurations, and work deeply with the data and calculations that underpin payroll outcomes.
You can also expect to be working with clients, particularly at a pre-sales/solution stage, assisting in the gathering and interpretation of business requirements and translating these into technical solution designs, and subsequent delivery. A payroll or finance background, while not essential, would set you up extremely well for this position.
From day one you will be closely involved in understanding how the system behaves in practice, interpreting requirements, analysing outcomes, and implementing rules that ensure the product behaves as intended. Over time, you will develop deep knowledge of the platform and become a key resource for understanding how payroll calculations and system behaviours operate.
The role works within a close knit team, including subject matter experts responsible for interpreting payroll legislation and compliance requirements. Your role will focus on translating those requirements into working system logic and ensuring the platform behaves correctly across a wide range of scenarios.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical ability, curiosity, and pride in producing accurate work. We ideally seek:
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Familiarity with payroll concepts or a finance background would be a distinct advantage
Experience working with business rules engines, scripting, system configuration, or light programming
Experience working with structured logic and complex calculations
Experience building reports or working with SQL or structured data
Strong spreadsheet skills (advanced Excel capability would be beneficial)
Understanding of databases and relational data structures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A structured and methodical approach to problem-solving
Applications are invited from suitable, experienced candidates who hold unrestricted work rights for New Zealand.
