What our client can offer:
The company, part of a large and established global entity, develops a connected platform for managing construction equipment and asset data at scale. The work involves large systems that support real use in the field and require reliable performance. The team values ownership, technical quality, and consistent learning across engineering work. The work has a direct impact on how customers track and manage mixed asset fleets in real time.

What you will do:

Design and deliver backend features for a complex IoT platform.
Build scalable services that support high data volume and system growth.
Write efficient, reusable code with a focus on reliability.
Develop unit tests and maintain code quality standards.
Work on API design, database structure, and system performance improvements.
Contribute to microservices design and long term architecture decisions.
Collaborate with product teams to define and deliver new features.
Support QA during testing cycles to ensure stable releases.
Take part in agile delivery practices and continuous improvement of workflows.
Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews and technical input.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

8+ years backend software engineering experience
Strong experience with JavaScript and Node.js
HTML/CSS exposure in full stack contexts
C#, .NET, or Python experience with willingness to transition into Node.js stack
Strong SQL experience, NoSQL exposure preferred
Microservices architecture design and delivery
Docker and container based deployments
AWS experience including EC2, S3, VPC, Elasticsearch, Kinesis
Message queue systems, RabbitMQ preferred
Large scale data system experience
Strong problem solving across complex systems
Clear communication style and structured thinking
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
IoT platform experience will be an advantage
New Zealand working rights
