Senior BA (Business) - Contract

Join a prominent New Zealand organisation as a contract Business Analyst, supporting business planning, scoping, sizing and preparing business cases for upcoming projects.

Our client is a well-known and respected New Zealand organisation, dedicated to serving the everyday needs of Kiwis. With a number of key projects requiring initiation, underpinning the strategic objectives of the business, you'll be part of meaningful work that has real impact across the organisation. You will work alongside senior and executive stakeholders across a variety of business and technology units and operate in a professional and well-supported enterprise environment.

What you will do:
As Business Analyst, you will liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts gathering requirements on proposed project initiatives, providing analysis, scoping and business case support around bringing these projects through to initiation. 

There is always real variety in these roles, but some of the tasks our BA’s can expect to work on includes:

• Documenting current and future state requirements within an enterprise setting
• Eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Working closely with Project Managers, SMEs, and technical teams to translate high requirements into actionable scopes, with supporting business cases
• Contributing to quality assurance and ensuring proposed deliverables are fit for purpose

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Relevant tertiary and/or industry qualification with at least 5 years' experience in a similar BA role.
• Exposure to legally or regulatory-driven projects, ideally within a retail or commercial context.
• Proficient working both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups, including legal, compliance, and operational functions.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and workshop facilitation skills.
• A collaborative, self-managing approach with the ability to juggle competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We are only able to support candidates holding current full New Zealand working rights who are able to work full time from Christchurch for the duration of the contract.
