Senior Business Analyst - Information Management

What you will do:
The Senior Information Management Business Analyst / Information Architect will lead a discovery and requirements engagement within a key area of the business. Information is currently spread across a range of collaboration platforms, shared drives and specialist systems, resulting in challenges with findability, duplication, version control, ownership and lifecycle management. The successful candidate will work closely with related programmes of work and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading current-state discovery through repository reviews, workshops, interviews and analysis
• Mapping key information repositories, integrations and document categories, including ownership, lifecycle and business criticality
• Defining business, information management, security and technical requirements, and identifying key pain points and risks
• Assessing solution options and validating findings and recommendations with stakeholders across the organisation

Subject to available time, the role may also extend to defining future-state principles and decision criteria, developing and evaluating future-state options, recommending a preferred information architecture, and delivering a final presentation and structured handover.

Skills and experience we are looking for:
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Information Management Business Analyst / Architect with the following skills:

• Demonstrated experience leading information management discovery and requirements analysis across complex, multi-repository and multi-system environments
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 document management, particularly SharePoint and Teams, including site architecture, metadata, permissions, search, versioning and governance
• Strong information architecture capability, including taxonomy, metadata frameworks, naming conventions and content classification
• Experience defining records management, retention, archival and disposal requirements, including lifecycle controls and authoritative sources of record
• Experience mapping system integrations and information flows between enterprise applications, cloud services, third-party platforms and specialist systems
• Proven ability to evaluate future-state solution options and develop high-level information architectures, migration approaches and implementation roadmaps

Candidates must be based in or willing to commute to Christchurch and hold valid working rights in New Zealand.
