Our client sits at the heart of our local community and environment. With a number of projects underway they require the services of an intermediate level, people focused Project Manager who will sit across two key areas of the organisation. Working as part of a supportive and connected team of Project and Programme Managers you will have access to ongoing professional development and mentoring, and you will have flexibility with where and when you work.

What you will do:
Joining an existing programme of work you will manage the project requirements across two key areas of the organisation. 25% of the role will have a technology focus while 75% will be about building and managing relationships, ensuring collaboration, coordination and basically pulling everything together. You will provide project structure and guidance and make adjustments to align with new regulations and requirements.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

This role is best suited to a Project Manager who has excellent people, engagement and communication skills. Specific requirements include:

• A relevant qualification or appropriate level of experience in project management (2-3 years)
• The ability to develop strong effective relationships and work collaboratively across multiple projects
• Previous experience in leading teams to achieve deliverables whilst developing a strong project team culture
• Ability to mentor other staff and build a project management mindset
• Experience working in local government and / or with iwi beneficial

While this role has some WFH flexibility, applicants must be domiciled in the Christchurch or Canterbury area. Fully remote working is not an option.
